This tiny detail from a recent pen and ink drawing is no larger than a small postage stamp. I find it easy to get lost in the details, investing time and attention in the little things. I get lost in the lostness and somehow find something of myself in there. These tiny elements all contribute to the core idea that’s the heart of every artwork.
I didn’t count the pen strokes or track the hours of practice required to reach a point where I felt it was about right, good enough for its intended purpose.
Can you guess what it is?
Guess by adding a comment below. You can guess as often as you like.
Or you can read the answer in this post about Imbas Forosnai
I think I see the tail of a Mermaid, Anthony?
You are close…very close. Definitely a tail but not that of a mermaid, although it is the tail of a mythical creature, from Irish mythology.
I see someone’s feet who is transforming to be a mermaid behind some shrub before returning to water, the shrub is her safe refuge.
Wow. I love the reference to safe refuge and transformation. I will tell you that there is a theme of transformation in the full drawing, although not quite a mermaid.
